Tournament of Champions
December 5, 2009

 Nine group champions met for the first tourney.  front row: Fergus OKelly represented IronOx when Drogo of Axebridge became Marshal in Charge. Griffin Fitzwyse -Troll Fen, Caedon of Jorvik -Grey Niche, Settimio d'Olivio -Seleone, Gwynn Bleyne -Tor an Riogh back row:  Olaf Bristlebeard -Wyrmgiest, Strazhek zyn Diomid -Small Gray Bear, Dafydd ap y Kynith -Axemoor, Maxamillian von Braun -Ardanroe. Bye fighter was Christof D'Wynter (Wolf). The Finals between Strazhek and Olaf sent both to today's final tournament.  Olaf was the victor.  Yes, that is snow.   

 

The Open Tournament :  front row Ingvarr, MarVan, Fergus, Egil Harroldson, Dagan ibn Yushuf ibn Hilal and A'ishe called the Wombat. back row:  Gwynn Bleyne, Otto der Waffenschmidt, Settimio, William of Glen Lyon, Fatima al-Naqidah, Maxamillian, John of Widcomb, Caedmon, Dafydd, Griffin, Ian, Gellir Gunnarsson and Christof D'Wynter (Wolf)  James the Holy absent for the photo but won the tourney.  He met Settimio d'Olivio in the finals and both advanced to the final tourney.

 

Grimbaldus Bacon becomes Queen's Champion.  The Tournament of Champions 16 take the field.  Caillin Macleod, Martin von Augsburg, Grimbaldus Bacon, Mikail Al-Rashid (Dex), Brian McBrand and Geoffrey De Bradelei (Dulinn) entered through four Barony sponsored lists.  His Majesty William requested that Ashikaga Hiromoto fill his Tourney slot, then tagged Bart Hightower to fill the 16th slot, left vacant by Rey Ribeaumont.  Prince Jon passed his Royal Consorts, Ladies of the Rose & Diamond, slot to Wernherus Rudemann, who placed second.  Other peerage champions were Michael of the Mace -Pelicans, Ali al-Badawi al-Maghribi -Chivalry and Havordh AEtterbini -Laurels.  Olaf, Strazhek, James & Settimio joined the list. The finals were between two knights of Gleann Abhann, James the Holy and Ashikaga Hiromoto.   Ashi claimed victory and was honored with his lady Ashikaga Kimiko.
